Real estate rental app with extra service focus

Interactive Design's regular clients run successful business and have been growing in a planned way for many years. Our contribution to their business is the creation of effective products. Very often we are thanked for this with recommendations, and this is just one of those cases. We were approached by a company from the UK who wanted to expand into a new market with their apartment rental iOS / Android app. Usually we're focused on fintech but this was really tempting ;)We were asked to develop an intriguing feature so that users could circle the place of interest directly on the map and get search results within the highlighted area. As you might have guessed from our previous work - we like to offer an improved experience.

Previously our guys built only real estate rental websites using Wordpress and WooCommerce, and we had no experience in creating similar apps, so of course we started with the discovery milestone. We researched the mobile real estate rental industry, all major competitive apps, user profiles, and competitors' marketing techniques. The analysis of the obtained data allowed us to create product documentation and get our vision approved by the customer.

We began to develop the data structure of the application, the user interface wireframes, the user area, and the owner area. We discovered the most questionable solutions of competitors and used only best practices to create high-fidelity wireframes.

When creating the user interface, we were guided by two principles: intuitiveness and uniqueness. We did not want to make another clone of Airbnb, because the application was not focusing on the additional services provided to renters. The app's identity is emphasized by its monochrome screen interfaces, which are contrasted by attractive interior photos. This solution was chosen by the client as the top design among all the concepts.
